Keep spacing, height and speed in the same brief
Record crop rows, intended working width, nozzle spacing and the carrier travel-speed range. Ask the supplier for the boom sprayer nozzle identification and output chart at the proposed pressure, then check how the recommended overlap relates to mounting height. Tank capacity and flow, pressure and application rate belong together because changing the nozzle set can change required pump output.
Ground boom equipment may suit accessible continuous plots, while a different method may be considered where field access is constrained. A purchase decision still needs application-specific review; neither a boom nor a drone establishes agronomic suitability from its equipment name.
Describe uneven ground and the carrier
Pasture inquiries should show slopes, gates, obstacles and the intended attachment. Ask how boom movement, nozzle protection and folding arrangements relate to those conditions. A wider boom can reduce passes in accessible areas but increases clearance and handling questions; compact configurations may fit restricted routes while requiring a different operating plan.
State the loaded tank and mounting information available from the carrier documentation. Do not accept a capacity substitution without reviewing mass, power and fastening requirements.
Explain the boundaries before choosing the pattern
Identify adjoining sensitive areas, access routes and the application instructions that the operator must follow. Ask for nozzle pattern, pressure range, shutoff scope and a statement of material compatibility. Drift reduction and coverage can involve competing requirements; a larger droplet category is not a substitute for confirming the intended application.
Record the planned maintenance and spare nozzle quantities. Mixing different nozzle types across a boom should be treated as a separate technical question for the supplier and the buyer's qualified application adviser.
